Lines of Sanity

Specks of old air fill the breeze,
While she dances on her naked toes…
I light the cigarette as she stops to look,
Her eyes looking at me like cold death.

I lurk in the corner of the room,
As she changes the song again,
Another moment lost to destiny,
Letting go of all control, I smoke.

I hold her by the waist,
As she looks around for him,
I let go and leave the room,
‘It is everyone and no one’, she smiles.

Daybreaks of being alone now,
Wanting to be feel lonely again,
A light strand of sanity to keep me awake,
Holding this version for another moment.

From all they know…
To all she doesn’t…
From an indifferent moment…
To feeling nothing…
